Ember Baby Bottle

Intro

Product Launch

Ember Technologies launched the first-ever self-warming baby bottle in the spring of 2023. Aiming to ease parents’ minds and warm milk and formula fast, this product uses Ember’s heating technology to bring them to body temperature in 2 minutes.

Project Scope

With the launch of a product for an entirely new audience, the creative team at Ember Technologies was tasked with creating a visual language that is geared towards parents and babies, while being a subset of the Ember brand. I worked closely with the Art Director and Brand Manager to implement the following product launch visuals.

Setting the tone

While the Art Director worked on determining the style guide for this new product, I worked on developing launch and teaser assets. Using stills from a rendered video on the product, I created a cheeky yet visually intriguing teaser hero for MMS and Email Marketing using the language “We’re expecting”.

The official launch assets heavily relied on the rendered image of the three main components of the product - the charging puck, the bottle, and the thermal dome, featured to the right.

Email Campaign

Our early campaign strategy focused on educating our audience on how safe and convenient this product is. This warming bottle is the first of it’s kind, so we wanted to be as transparent as possible to ease parent’s minds.

The combination of technical drawings and lifestyle imagery allowed our audience to gain a thorough understanding of the new product, while also envisioning themselves using the product.

Technical Illustrations

These technical illustrations were created to help our audience better understand all the components of the complete Baby Bottle System. This particular set of illustrations was posted to social media in a carousel format.

App Assistance

With the Art Director’s guidance, I created assets for the Ember Baby App, including icons, mockups, layouts, and more. I also incorporated parenting blog articles and developed custom layouts and graphics for each article using html and css.

Digital Ads

We developed a variety of ads for Amazon, Paid Search, and Meta. Each campaign incorporated A/B testing to help us key into our creative strategy by comparing copy, images, and the use of color.

Social Testimonials

I worked with user testimonials to develop Ember Baby-branded graphics that felt approachable and clean. The use of color, type, and shape created visuals that encouraged the audience to read the full review.

Video Ad

With a tight turnaround time, I pulled social reviews of the product to create a hype video. I incorporated various files, type animation, and motion animation to create a simple yet effective video ad for social.

Key Takeaways

  • For a solid product launch, the whole team must be on the same page regarding style, tone, visual weight, and campaign direction. It’s surprising how quickly a campaign can be pulled together when everyone is working simultaneously with clear direction and communication.

  • When a campaign isn’t performing as well as you’d like, it helps to have insight into what is working well and what isn’t. Audience engagement is a key indicator of whether you’re communicating a message that resonates with your customers.

  • Lifestyle imagery is a necessity, especially for a technical product that requires customer education. Renders and generated images might accurately depict a product’s form; however, lifestyle pictures highlight how the product functions in real life.
